Another masterpiece from architect Puchong Satirapipatkul, the magnificent Lobster House exemplifies exceptional architecture with expansive, airy entertaining areas and comfy private spaces. The house is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
Various distinct volumes make up the exterior of the home. And each volume is defined by small changes such as their offset planes and varying structural treatments. Some areas are framed in beams whereas others are enclosed in glass.
The downstairs houses the public spaces while private areas like bedrooms are found upstairs. Tucked neatly away on a mezzanine in between is a small, yet comfy library.
The house has a dynamic aura, which varies according to your viewpoint. You can credit that to cool white surfaces that transition to details made from slate, wood, and plenty of warm brick.
There’s a seamless connection between the indoors and the outdoors, thanks to the home’s distinctive layout. The layout ensures the interior remains fresh and airy while allowing the cool breezes and natural light to freely flood the living spaces.
The outdoors features nicely-crafted landscaping with beautiful, sculpted trees that add to the luxurious touch.
Entering the house, you cannot help but marvel at the magnificent double-height living room. And your eye can’t miss the distinctive center beam staircase. There is plenty of natural light, thanks to the expansive windows.
Huge doors on either end of the room ensure proper circulation of the cool breeze from the outside.
Away from the living space, the dining room occupies a wide open hall. This is a great place for entertaining your guests. It allows easy movement between the reception area, the dining table, and the sprawling wrap-around patio. The spider-like chandelier is quite eye-catching.
The water features not only enrich the beauty of the space but also serves as a cooling element to the home. Likewise, the eye-catching pond helps to cool both the dining space and the attached veranda.
And what do we have the kitchen?
Honey-toned wood adds a touch of warmth and comfort to the private kitchen. Sitting at the breakfast bar, you can enjoy a refreshing warmth from the morning sun, thanks to the backsplash windows.
If you have a penchant for working from home, this office will certainly tickle your fancy. With eclectic decorations and valuable supplies, the office is designed to boost productivity. And if you’ve had too much to work on, you can’t a break in the small daybed placed conveniently near the window.
The bedrooms are as spacious as the rest of rooms in the home. They boast fresh air and beautiful ceilings fans for creating the perfect retreat. And the timeless 4 poster beds add style to the rooms.
