Gláma Kím Architects, an architectural firm based in Reykjavík, Iceland, prides itself in producing award-winning home designs. And their work is excellently demonstrated in this magnificent home. Photography is done by Nanne Springer.
Located in Arnarnes, in the greater Reykjavík, Iceland, this home was designed to comfortably accommodate a family of seven.

The exterior of the home is covered in polished concrete with expansive windows. This delivers a look that is natural and refined. The large windows also flood the interior of the home with natural light. The wooden finish of the interior surfaces, including the ceiling, add to the natural feel.
Inside, the two-level home is spacious, which is ideal for such a large family. The family room and kitchen are located on the southwest side, providing an impressive view of the inlet beyond.

It is worth noting that the kitchen provides ample storage in tastefully designed custom cabinets. And it is fully equipped with every appliance the family would need. Extending across the expansive glazed façade towards the awe-inspiring view of the Reykjanes Peninsula is a formal dining room and living space.

A large fireplace splits up the space and offers a vertical support for an open wooden staircase. Using the staircase, you will end up at the family rooms on the lower level. The northeast of the home houses the bedrooms.
