This magnificent 2500-square foot house is the home of Caroline, the owner of House of Harper, a site that offers tips on a wide range of lifestyle topics. She lives with her husband and their two sons.
Located in Briargrove — Houston, Texas, the home radiates Caroline’s sartorial eye and love of art. It features an expansive and contemporary art strewn in every room. She uses rich colors and vintage textiles to blend her tastes perfectly. The result is a warm, charming space for her family of four.
In decorating the home, Caroline draws inspiration largely from traditional homes she lived in when growing up.
Stepping into the home, a beautiful Farrow & Ball wallpaper in the entryway gives you a warm welcome. The console table from Horchow and the mirror from Ballard Designs are eye-catching as well.
Friends are normally impressed by the kitchen. This is in light of the fact that most homes in the neighborhood have small kitchens.
The large open living room provides space for multiple seating areas. In a home with two boys, you have to find creative ways to hide toys. And the baskets in the console do a great job in that case.
While the large wall art completes the space impressively, Caroline terms it as her biggest indulgence. It was the biggest spend out of her comfort zone.
The chair in her office is from Overstock. And the picture light is a Visual Comfort. She got the vintage orange chairs from her grandparents.
The acrylic chair can’t go unmentioned. It is from Lulu & Georgia.
Designing the kitchen from layout to the storage details qualifies to be Caroline’s proudest DIY. She invested a lot of thought in every little detail and has nothing to regret.
Most of the material for the kitchen refurbishment were found at Lowes. And the freshly renovated kitchen provides enough space for a casual dining area.
The older child’s bedroom is light and bright. And the master bedroom is small but comfy and loaded with luxurious, white bedding.
