Tam-Anh and Ricky call this 1100-square foot industrial loft, home.
Located in Jack London Square, Oakland, California, the wide open loft features exposed brick, floor-to-ceiling windows, warm industrial touches, walk-in closet, and fireplace. These are some of the features the couple had in mind when searching for a new home.
Shall we tour the home and see what’s inside?
Stepping into the loft, you’re engulfed with overwhelming beauty. Plenty of natural light floods the expansive, open and industrial floorplan.
There’s a felt letter board at the entry with a list of places the couple hopes to visit every year. The rustic touches of the industrial lockers blend in well with the industrial space.
Let’s see what the kitchen has to offer
The blue kitchen adds a fun touch to the industrial finishes spread across the home.
When it comes to kitchen décor, Tam-Anh draws inspiration from her mom’s overgrown garden, the colors of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the library from Beauty and the Beast, Don Draper’s apartment, and anything gold colored.
The blue vases serve as a decorative element above the kitchen cabinets. They prevent the space from looking too space.
Away from the kitchen area, the seven-foot marble dining room table is the couple’s biggest indulgence. And the reading nook offers a place to showcase some of their prized collections.
Your eye can’t miss the vertical turntable to the left. It’s one of the couple’s coolest possessions. They got it from Gramovox.
The large windows bring in enough natural light for their plant collection to thrive. You should not shy away from mixing and matching pieces in your home, as Tam-Anh has done in their dining room.
And what do we have in the living room?
The living area is elevated so it feels like a separate room. It features a sizable grey sectional from IKEA. The yellow pintuck pillow on the couch is from Urban Outfitters.
Away from the living room, let’s explore the bedroom.
The spacious bedroom features a Drommen bed from CB2. The gold and pink heart ottoman is from Target and the desk is from CB2.
Your eye can’t miss the hex side table on the left. It is from West Elm. Ricky displays some of his collected Lego Star Wars toys on the bookshelf at the bedside.
The spacious closet provides enough space for storing clothes, shoes, and excess art the couple plans to rotate throughout the year.
Tam-Anh is an art collector and curator and hence needs enough wall space to hang her collection. She displays some of her best prints from local artists in the bathroom.
